Back when I was still playing with Barbie dolls, I wished someone would take me away from here. As years passed, I thought that somehow the feeling would come to pass… like an old forgotten nightmare. But it never did. I’m still that child… waiting and wanting for someone to come take her away.

You think that coming home after a 10-hour shift would give you peace and rest, but it was never like that for us. Not for anyone in this house. Probably that’s why this has always needed the presence of either Ringo, Wally or this time, Mario. The house needs a hot-blooded mammal, greeting everyone who comes home after a grueling day.

I love Mario’s innocence. How he greets me… how special he makes everyone feel. I don’t know what going home without him to jump on me would make me feel. Miserable, most probably.

Let’s talk Mario…

Mario is ForeverGuy’s birthday gift for me. Remember how I was always complaining in the past about his refusal to let me buy a pup? Apparently, he was already thinking of buying me one since then, ergo, the don’t-buy-a-dog-until-next-year drama. It was the sweetest gesture ever, and the best gift anyone could have ever given me for my birthday.

I got Mario, a shih tzu.

We picked him up at MOA last Saturday before we headed to Tagaytay with Momcee, Hannah, Natnat and Kristia (who we met at MOA). We then ate at Leslie’s then headed over to Sbux while ForeverGuy attended his frat’s Christmas party.

The next day though Mario started vomiting so we brought him to the vet yesterday where he was given three kinds of medicines to take. But he’s not responding to the meds which is why he was confined earlier this morning. My poor baby is on dextrose

I really, really fervently hope he’s okay ASAP. I can’t even sleep for fear that I’ll wake up the next day with Mario gone I want him running around the house and chasing after me, Natnat, Hannah and Wally again. And he still has to meet Negra (ForeverGuy’s Black Labrador which we picked up earlier this morning too). And we’re still going shopping for his clothes. Kristia and I are even planning to take him to a grooming center at MOA or the one Kristia saw near Rockwell.
