Dr. Dogs

I caught 24 Oras’ news item last night: Dr. Dogs visited a children’s hospital. These children are going to have to spend their holidays inside the hospital because of their illnesses. In turn, an international body brought well-behaved and trained dogs for the enjoyment of these children.

Accordingly, I have recently come across a study saying that dogs can actually be quite therapeutic. For a fact, I believe they can be stress-reliever. Back to the days I have Ringo, a lick on my hand is all it takes to banish whatever unhappiness I am feeling at that moment.

One of my early wishes after Ringo died is to have another dog–someone I can call mine again. But since we all needed time to move on from Ringo’s death, we prevented ourselves from getting hold of another one. Then came Wally (our golden retriever)… but he’s an active dog. I need someone to play and just cuddle with, not someone I need to run with haha! But in all his playfulness, Wally’s a charming fellow. Unfortunately, his loyalty isn’t mine alone. Hekhek…

Ringo was a toy poodle. I want a shih tzu now because to have someone who looks like Ringo (a poodle, a maltese, etc) would only fall short of our memory of him. I need someone who looks different… but still cute, of course.

I promised ForeverGuy I would not get a dog this year but as soon as January sets in, I’ll start cajoling him to let me have one. Haha! I badly miss it.
